ScentBlocker Introduces New Trinity Synthetic Scent Control Technology

ScentBlocker® introduces revolutionary new synthetic technology no one smelled coming.

Cannon Falls, MN — January 7, 2013 — Today, Robinson Outdoor Products, LLC, the maker of ScentBlocker, has announced the introduction of ScentBlocker with new synthetic Trinity technology.

Trinity Technology is more than an engineering marvel. It’s a new milestone in human scent control that goes where no hunting apparel has gone before. Its game-changing properties are so powerful – yet so thin and light –that it takes comfort and performance to a whole new level.

Engineered using a special polymeric resin with huge surface area and fantastic adsorption kinetics, Trinity™ Technology has been more than 10 years in the making. Its properties provide qualities and features unattainable in other scent-adsorption gear. It’s lighter by volume, exhibits stronger attraction for human and organic odors, and lasts longer between regeneration. Testing shows that Trinity even leapfrogs the odor-adsorption capacity of ScentBlocker’s own industry-leading Cold Fusion® activated carbon technology.

“The significance of what this means to a hunter will become obvious,” says Kip Vangsgard, Vice President of Product and Business Development. “When you start with a material that adsorbs more odor, you can achieve impressive scent control performance in lighter garments with less loading. This is where Robinson Outdoor Products innovation shines through on behalf of the hunter. Application of this synthetic polymer on new technical fabrics results in absolutely lighter, more comfortable and more user-friendly scent control hunting clothing than ever before.”

Simply put, Trinity not only outperforms the competition, it exceeds even our own high expectations. This is the power to get you closer.

How is the new trinity reactivated?

To regenerate the Trinity scent control all you need to do is place your garment in the dryer on a medium heat for 20 to 30 minutes, you will want to repeat this process after every 20 hours of actual use of the garment. Be sure you store you garment in a scent free container when not in use.

Trinity Camo Clothing - What is the useful life of this product. How frequently should it be washed, and with what soap.. How many washings before it is not effective.
Is it sprayed on the polyester cloth, bonded or woven into the material? Does it rub off with usage.
The dealers don't know.. I'd like to buy, but need answers.
    Thanks for your assistance..

    Hi Bill,
Trinity apparel will last 7 to 10 years depending on how it is cared for. The first step in properly caring for a garment is always keeping it in a scent free container when not in use. When you first get your garment you are going to want to wash and dry it according to the instructions on the care label sewn into the garment. After the first wash you will then only need to wash your item when it becomes bloody or soiled, you will however need to regenerate the Trinity every 30 hours of actual use. To regenerate your garment all you will need to do is put it in your drier on a medium to high heat (depending what your care label states) for 20 to 30 minutes.
The Trinity will not rub or wear off from usage, we do have a couple different applications for the Trinity with the majority of them having the Trinity bonded between 2 layers of fabric.

Thanks for the good questions John!!

Alot has changed in the world of Scent Control with the introduction of Trinity Scent Control. I have two links for your reference to help explain why ScentBlocker is no longer in the Carbon business: We created something more effective and more versatile in the types of scent control garments we create.

Here is a breakdown of ScentBlocker scent control technology and how S3 silver anti-microbial PREVENTS ODOR formation and how Trinity Scent Control ADSORBS ODOR:

Here is a link to read through our care instructions for both Trinity and Non Trinity items:

    Good Afternoon,
Trinity garments must be re-generated in the drier you must have heat for the process to take place. If you have your scentproof container with you, my recommendation would be to keep your garments stored in this container whenever you are not using them. Your garments should be effective for about 30 to 40 hours of actual use.
We do also recommend that you use our Trinity Blast spray, its like a ScentBlocker suit in a bottle! If you have any other questions please feel free to give me a call 800/397-1927 ext. 102
    Thank you and Best Regards,

Hi I have been sweating quite a bit while wearing my suit. Just wondering if reactivating it will remove the sweat odor or if i should wash it. Also wondering how often it should be washed . Thanks

  • Staff Writer

    Good morning Kyle,

You need to wash your suit any time that it becomes bloody or soiled. If you beleive you are sweating that much I would recommend washing it.

    Thank you and Best Regards,

What about the cling free smell that's in the dryer you use? How do you keep the Trinity from absorbing that smell when you regenerate it?

  • Staff Writer

    Good Morning Bill,

I always wipe down the inside of my dryer prior to using it on any ofmy hunting apparel. You can wipe the dryer down a couple ways, use one of our field wipes or body bath towels or spray a cloth with some Trinity Blast and wipe down. I hope this helps, if you have any more questions please let me know.

    Thank you and Best Regards,
    Amy McDonald
