His Royal Priesthood

Greetings again,

We are continuing our look at Abba as King and this week we will also continue our peek at some of what it means for us to be members of His Royal Priesthood (1 Peter 2:9&10). So far we have seen that as a priest we serve Abba and are to serve others. One of the ways we do this is to express to Him and to others how wonderfully majestic is our King.

This week we are going to appreciate another aspect of being in this position of a royal priest is that we get to rule with the King! Now, there are lots of things to be said about this, but today I  want to look at one very practical aspect of this call to rule with Him, and that is; the gift of being able to view things from His perspective.

I don't know about you, but my days are often filled with interruptions. Things that need my attention that weren't part of my plan. Those pesty little time eaters. Things I seemingly have no control over. Well, I might not have control over these interruptions, but Abba has given me the freedom to choose how I view them and therefore how I respond to them. I can choose to see these interruptions as gifts from Abba and as a result, viewing them from my royal priestly residence. As I do this, instead of them looming large and obstructive from my normal perspective, they take on their rightful size and I am able to rule my emotions instead of allowing them to rule me. What a powerful and liberating new vantage point.

Thank you Abba! I get to abide in Jesus and rule my response to the things I face right now!

“If you want to know what someone really thinks, just listen to what they say after the word  ‘but’. “

Note: “but God” is a weekly ministry of Robinson Outdoors Products written for us by pastor and spiritual counselor, Thomas Paige. “But God” is posted each week on the ScentBlocker website and can be found there along with the archives of messages of past years and months from Thomas. “But God” is also posted each week on ScentBlocker Facebook page and on Twitter.

You may ask, “why would Robinson, an outdoor products company with brands ScentBlocker and Tree Spider, making  products for hunters, spend its time on something like “but God”?”  Great question, as we here at Robinson consider our work place our mission field, our products bearing the John 3:16 inscription our outreach. For 2014, there will be a laminated waterproof jacket pocket insert that contains the salvation message printed in two languages. And, we ask the Lord to provide more opportunities for us to be a light unto a dark world.

What responses do we receive from our customers? Each week thousands and thousands of people read the “but God” message online. We receive dozens and dozens of appreciative emails, rejoicing that a company has the courage to stand up for what it believes despite perhaps it not being the most popular thing to do these days. God has blessed our lives and our  business!

I hope you will enjoy this weeks’ “…but God” as Thomas continues the series, unto the Lord!
