By Grace We Are Saved

Welcome back. Last week we began to ask some questions about this 'life' Abba gives to us, His children, that among many other places is spoken of in Ephesians 2:5. "Even when we were dead in sins, He made us alive together with Christ; by grace we are saved."

The first question we looked at was 'who'. Who gives it, who receives it, Who's responsibility is it, and so forth. This week we will begin to look at 'what'. What does this 'life' He gives us look like?

Let's begin with a working definition; This life is, "life in the absolute sense, life as God has in Himself, and which He gave to the Incarnate Son to have in Himself, and of this life, His children become partakers through faith in Him."

I would encourage you to read that definition again; maybe twice. Read it slowly, let it sink in. Ponder it, consider it, let it sit with you for a while. This life He has gifted to us is nothing less than His own life. The life Abba has in and of Himself, the life He gave to Jesus, is ours! This life that caused Jesus to refer to Himself as 'The Life' is ours this very moment. When Jesus said He came to give us life in abundance, He meant it. This filled to overflowing life, is the life each of us were created to experience.

As an old friend of mine used to say, ' I am incredibled!' Receive it, thank Him, and praise Him. We'll look at more of 'what'next week, but for now, share the overflow.
