But God- How does Abba invite us into His life and kingdom?

But God Image_Color_CrossGreetings,

We are in the process of answering questions sent into us. Last time we talked about the truth that salvation is begun by Abba inviting us into His life and kingdom. One response was, "I've never heard that before. I've always heard it was us inviting Jesus into our hearts. Please explain what that is about." We might take a long time responding to that request. I believe too many Christians are disappointed, discouraged, and defeated in their faith walks because they have faulty foundations. Being Abba's child is like any other relationship in that the foundation needs to be accurate and true if the building is to be solid. (Mt. 7:24-27) If we start out with the foundation being Jesus coming into our life (which, of course He does), our focus is usually on ourselves and how we're doing at making Him Lord. If we instead begin to recognize that we are participants in His Kingdom, our focus will be more on the King and watching what He does and how amazing He is. Okay, so how does this happen you ask. Let's look at Scripture.

In Ephesians 2:5&6, we read this:

'Even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ- by grace you have been saved- and raised us up with him and seated us with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus.'

Do you hear that? We, as Abba's children are seated today in heaven IN Jesus! Wow! We are there already. But, how did this happen?

Let's go to Romans 6:5:

'For if we have been united with him in a death like his, we shall certainly be united with him in a resurrection like his.'

Here is what happens when one comes to salvation- they are crucified with Christ and then buried with him and then resurrected with him and then they ascend with him to heaven. All of this takes place IN Jesus and of course it happens in the spiritual realm. Remember, we are spirit beings who have been given a body, not the other way around. So who went to the cross with Jesus? The real you. Who was raised and ascended and is seated in him in heaven today? The real you!

I know that what was written today is a lot to digest. I hope it causes lots of questions and dialogue. We will unwrap more next time of what is included in being invited into Abba's Kingdom.

If you want to know what someone really thinks, just listen to what they say after the word ‘but’ …so it is here with…”but God!”“

Note: “but God” is a weekly ministry of Robinson Outdoors Products written for us by pastor and spiritual counselor, Thomas Paige. “But God” is posted each week on the ScentBlocker website and can be found there along with the archives of messages of past years and months from Thomas. “But God” is also posted each week on ScentBlocker Facebook page and on Twitter.

You may ask, “why would Robinson, an outdoor products company with brands ScentBlocker and Tree Spider, making products for hunters, spend its time on something like “but God”?” Great question, as we here at Robinson consider our work place our mission field, our products bearing the John 3:16 inscription our outreach. In every new ScentBlocker jacket there is a laminated waterproof pocket insert that contains the salvation message printed in two languages. And, we ask the Lord to provide more opportunities for us to be a light unto a dark world.

What responses do we receive from our customers? Each week thousands and thousands of people read the “but God” message online. We receive dozens and dozens of appreciative emails, rejoicing that a company has the courage to stand up for what it believes despite perhaps it not being the most popular thing to do these days. God has blessed our lives and our business!

I hope you will enjoy this weeks’ “…but God” as Thomas continues the series, unto the Lord!
