SYSTEM LAYER DIAGRAM.jpgIn 2010 ScentBlocker®/Scent Shield® conceived the idea of a System Layering concept.  This concept was formulated to assist hunters in controlling body temperature, managing moisture from their body and most importantly controlling their scent for better success in the field.

System Layer One, also called a base layer, is the first layer of clothing you wear, directly contacting your skin.  This layer is your first layer of defense utilizing S3® antimicrobial technology to aid in odor control and helps prevent the growth of bacteria that causes odor.  The fabrics utilized like Bamboo, Nylon, Spandex and Merino Wool are designed to quickly wick away moisture and keep you comfortable and dry.  The Four Direction Stretch™ is designed to move with you and provide superior mobility and movement.  You may utilize more than one 1st Layer System together at one time for many conditions.

System Layer One is classified in three weight types.

      • Lightweight garments are designed for intense aerobic activity (where moisture wicking is crucial to comfort) but provide little insulation.
      • Midweight provides moisture wicking properties as well as insulation for low intensity aerobic activities.
      • Expedition Weight layer will wick moisture but is intended to insulate in colder conditions.

SYSTEMLAYERTWO_LOGO.jpgSystem Layer Two or Mid Layers/Insulating Layers are designed to trap and hold your body heat in.  This layer comes with S3™ antimicrobial technology and may also include Activated Carbon Technology which helps to adsorb human odors.  The mid layers provide a looser fit, and provide some protection against the elements and work/fit in conjunction with the 1st Layer System to provide temperature regulation and odor control.  Depending on the activity level, duration and temperature you are hunting in you may choose to use multiple pieces of the 2nd Layer System to keep you warm and comfortable.

System Layer Two comes in different materials and thickness for varying insulation

      • S3® Tactical Cotton – Cotton on steroids that provides superior active designs and S3™ antimicrobial properties.
      • XLT™ Xtreme Lightweight Technology with Activated Carbon Technology.
      • Ion Fleece™ - Innovative super quiet and soft fleece with S3™ antimicrobial technology that is wind resistant by construction.
      • 4WD™ Insulation with S3® technology for maximum insulation and element protection without the bulk.

SYSTEMLAYERTHREE_LOGO.jpgSystem Layer Three or Outer Layer is designed to conceal and protect you against the elements.  This layer can very based on the location or the time of the year you are hunting.  The warmer temperatures call for extremely breathable fabrics and lightweight construction.  The colder and harsher the elements the more you will need wind, rain and added insulation protection built in.  Many of the 3rd Layer System garments include integrated designs that work in conjunction with many of the 2nd Layer System pieces.

System Layer Three comes in many variations based on weight and protection.

      • Lightweight construction in both S3® antimicrobial technology and Activated Carbon with maximum patented 3D concealment.
      • XLT™ - Xtreme Lightweight Technology with Activated Carbon Technology.
      • Silent Shell™ - Extremely quiet soft shell technology that is tough and burr resistant with Durable Water Repellency and ScentBlocker® Cold Fusion™.
      •  Pro Fleece™ Super soft and warm deadly quiet fleece with Durable Water Repellency and ScentBlocker® Cold Fusion™.
      •  RainBlocker® waterproof, breathable protection against the wind and rain with S3® antimicrobial and ultimate waterproof protection with S3®.
      • Downpour™ - ultimate waterproof protection with S3® antimicrobial technology designed for the hunter who demands the ultimate protection without the sacrifice of noise and weight.
