    • Q: What is Cold Fusion and how is it different?
      A: The technology behind ScentBlocker Cold Fusion was developed for use by NATO military forces to protect human life from NBCR (Nuclear, Biological, Chemical and Radiation) agents. This technology utilizes powdered activated carbon sourced and carefully processed from deep mine anthracite coal. It is uniquely applied to fabrics to create a complete, even blanket of breathable carbon filter that traps and holds human odor unlike any other carbon fabric.
    • Q: How can activated carbon in hunting apparel help?
      A: Activated carbon is the strongest adsorbing material known to man. It is far and away the best and most practical odor adsorbent commercially available for hunting clothing. It can adsorb a high percentage of the variety of odors produced by humans. When properly used and cared for, activated carbon clothing can provide you the ability to get closer to big game than ever before with less fear of being winded.
    • Q: Will carbon apparel solve all my hunting problems?
      A: Activated carbon apparel, like that offered by ScentBlocker, can be an awesome component in getting close to game animals and providing you with good opportunities. However, it must be cared for (See Care Instructions) and used properly. It is an all or nothing proposition. You must do everything in your power to keep yourself and your equipment scent-free. Following a sound scent control regimen like our recipe for success will help your carbon clothing do it's job better. When used properly, it is a joy to have animals in close, not detecting your presence or detecting something, but not knowing what or how close or recent the scent was deposited, allowing a chance at a shot of a lifetime.
    • Q: Do antimicrobial garments also eliminate odor?
      A: In short, no. They do almost nothing to eliminate, trap, adsorb, or neutralize odors. They can only help to control odor by helping to reduce their formation in the first place. What they are really intended to do is protect the fabric itself by reducing bacteria that causes odors to grow in the fabric. This is exactly how our S3® technology works.
    • Q: Can activated carbon clothing be regenerated?
      A: Yes. Regeneration (also referred to as reactivation) is the purging of previously adsorbed odor. It can and does occur readily with activated carbon hunting clothing. You simply need to provide enough heat to overcome the attraction energy of the odor to the carbon. When dealing with simple human odor, the heat required is in the range of 150 degrees fahrenheit, and can be done with a standard home dryer. Time in the dryer varies greatly with the individual and with how the clothing is used and cared for. We generally recommend medium to high heat for 30-40 minutes every 20-40 hours of use.
    • Q: How does activated carbon work in hunting clothing
      A: Activated carbon is a material that is known and used worldwide as a premier filter material to adsorb impurities. in water, air, vehicles and many other situations where an odor or impurity needs to be filtered. A layer of activated carbon sandwiched between fabrics in a hunting garment does the same thing - adsorb odor. Ond of the keys is having enough carbon and good coverage on the fabric to be able to act as a filter.

    • Q: What suit is better than another for certain areas
      A: ScentBlocker® develops garments for hunters to be utilized throughout the hunting seasons. We have strategically designed garments with RainBlocker technology for 100% waterproof concealment, XLT for the warm temperatures and different fleeces for the colder months of the year. These Items can all be seen in depth under the System Layers section of the shopping area.
    • Q: What is the temperature rating of your clothing?
      A: Our clothing does not contain a temperature rating system. We design our garments to be utilized throughout the year in different weather situations. ScentBlocker® has designed a layering system to help hunters ensure they are wearing the proper clothing to stay warm or keep cool and reduce their human odor at the same time. By proper utilizing two or more layers you can control your body’s temperature and either add or remove layers based on your temperature.
    • Q: How insulated are the boots?
      A: Our boots use wool insulation. Just like our clothing we use the layering design for our boots. With wool you can stay warm and control your foot’s temperature by adding additional socks and a foot warmer underneath the foot bed without compromising comfort. We also use wool due to the fact that wool will still keep you warm if your foot is to over sweat or get wet.
